Build Your Business
One Step at a Time
At the heart of every business is a dream--you have a talent to share with the world, and a vision for helping people with your unique expertise and passion. All too often though entrepreneurs allow fear and lack of clarity to keep them in the dreaming stage, slowing the growth of their business and their ability to achieve large-scale impact. As a Market Leadership Coach, I work with entrepreneurs to identify and overcome the limiting beliefs and practices that hinder success.
Here are three of the most common reasons people give for not moving forward with their business goals:
1. “I don’t know enough. I’m afraid I’ll make a mistake.”
The problem with a perfectionist mindset is that if you wait to be perfect, you will never take action, as a client of mine recently discovered. She wanted to fill her program but was too anxious to send an email to promote it.
Instead of waiting to be perfect before you do anything, accept the fact that you will make some mistakes, but that you will learn as you go. By trading perfectionism for a strategy that based on “do, learn, repeat,” you will develop your knowledge and skills while growing your business at the same time.
2. “I don’t have the money to invest in my business.”
While it may sound logical to wait until you have more money to invest in business development and coaching, the reality is that you need business development and coaching to make more money.
Fear keeps people--and businesses--stagnant. Trading fear for confidence in your potential allows you to trust that investing in your business will pay off in the knowledge and tools you need to achieve higher levels of success with greater ease.
3. “I don’t know where to start--there’s so much to do.”
Overwhelm is one of the biggest challenges entrepreneurs face. If you don’t know what to prioritize and what to put on the back burner, it’s impossible to establish realistic goals and create clear action steps to achieve them.
By trading overwhelm for clarity, you can move forward with focused action.
I’ve developed a quiz to help entrepreneurs discover which areas they should focus their time and energy on first to build the business they love and scale their platform as the go-to expert in their field.
I love helping entrepreneurs move past these limiting beliefs and act on their potential. As Author and Emmy Award Winning Journalist Lu Ann Cahn says, “Jamie inspires you to think outside the box, to take risks, to dream, and then to create something extraordinary.”
Fear and lack of clarity don’t have to hold you back. Once you invest in your business and discover what to focus on, you can take action, one step at a time, towards making your dream a reality.
Here’s to your success!
